The 5th Generation range honours the winemaking endeavours of Grant Burge over five generations while showcasing the exemplary fruit and unrivalled quality produced in our highly acclaimed Barossa region.

PINOT GRIS

The Fruit

The fruit was sourced from a variety of premium cool-climate vineyards, including the Barossa and Adelaide Hills, which consistently produce fruit of exceptional flavour and interest.

The Winemaking

Harvested in the cool of the night, the fruit was de-stemmed and placed directly into the press to minimize skin contact. After fermentation the wines were matured in 2-4yo French Oaks for 3 to 6 months.

The Wine

The wine is pale straw in colour with the slightest hint of rose gold. With rich aromas of ripe stone fruits, the wine is elegantly balanced by sweet notes of crème brulee and floral perfume of peach blossom. The palate is a perfect harmony of fresh, vibrant fruit flavours and creamy complexity with spicy and nutty nuances derived from the oak fermentation and extended lees contact this wine received prior to bottling.

A classically varietal Pinot Gris with intense fruit flavours of peach and pear, accented with subtle, spicy oak and creamy yeast-derived characters. A true food wine that is a perfect paring with a range of dishes from spicy stir-fry, creamy curries, to fresh Mediterranean cuisine.
