Nikka Miyagikyo 2000S Single Malt Cask Strength Japanese Whisky 500mL

The Miyagikyo distillery is Nikka s second distillery built in 1969. Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru chose this site in the mountains of Sendai to contrast with his first distillery, Yoichi, located in the coastal area. Using less peaty malt and distilled in a pot still heated by indirect steam, Miyagikyo single malt has an elegant fruitiness and a distinctive aroma with a strong sherry cask influence.

The 2000's is a rare blend of malt whiskies distilled at Miyagikyo between 2000 and 2009. A limited release 500ml bottling at its cask strength of 57% ABV.

Tasting Notes

Nose: An aroma of orange and ripe dry pineapple.

Palate: Woody flavour with hints of tea. It is sweet and full of body.

Finish: Taste of sweet, dry malt.
